FAQ

Acupuncture in Riverside

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

During the initial exam a full health history will be taken. Questions will be asked regarding symptoms, health and lifestyle. Your acupuncturist will check your pulse and tongue, and conduct a physical exam. This information is then organized to create a comprehensive diagnosis of which organ or part of your body has blockage, weakness, or imbalance. After the interview process, you will receive an acupuncture treatment. Your initial acupuncture session may last from 45-90 minutes. Your follow up acupuncture session may last from 30-60 minutes.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

Come to us with any and all questions you may have about Eastern Medicine, the Treatments, or your particular condition. All of our doctors are all highly knowledgeable and eager to provide you with beneficial information and can be a wonderful resource for health, lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise tips.

Wear loose comfortably fitting clothing to help you relax.

An open-mind and desire to be healed.

WHY DO THEY WANT TO LOOK AT MY TONGUE?

The tongue is a map of the body. It reflects the general health of organs, body energy and body fluids. Your acupuncturist will look at the color, shape, cracks and coating on your tongue.

WHAT DO THE NEEDLES FEEL LIKE?

You may feel a small prick as the needle passes through the skin. However, the needles are as fine as a human hair and many patients do not feel any pain at all.
We only use the highest quality  stainless steel acupuncture needles that are safe and specially designed to cause minimal pain. Being the width of a single strand of human hair, acupuncture needles should be neither feared nor confused with any other type of needle.  Many enjoy the relaxing sensation that permeates all over the body, which results from the improved circulation.
